Austin Kilgore

Austin Kilgore is Achieve’s Director of Corporate Communications and an analyst for the Achieve Center for Consumer Insights, a think tank that publishes research and commentary in support of Achieve’s mission of helping everyday people get on, and stay on, the path to a better financial future. 

Previously, Austin was the Director of Digital Lending at Javelin Strategy and Research, where he advised financial services industry clients on emerging technologies and strategies that enhance the customer experience and deliver faster and more accurate underwriting and portfolio management decisions across mortgage, auto, student and personal loans.

Before joining Javelin, Kilgore was an award-winning journalist, covering mortgage finance, real estate, fintech, payments and other areas of financial services. Most recently, he was the editor in chief of National Mortgage News and a contributing editor to American Banker, where he oversaw coverage and analysis of mortgage finance and real estate. Previous roles include managing editor of PaymentsSource and Mortgage Technology. Before that, he was an editor and reporter for HousingWire. Austin regularly appears as a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences and events. He is a Texas native and a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
